Blue Mold

This city is beautiful at night

with the light of the moon

bustling down

below on you

Yet being so close to the clouds

one can’t feel any of it

The people are so small

taking their bags in tenfold

like little ants

are those specs of dust

The nightlights stretch for me

they can only reach so far

it makes me hate my solace

There’s no vitality up here

in these clouds

like there once was

Those birds used to give me meaning

the sun would greet me

while the moon

would kiss me goodnight

The clouds

would singe themselves

against my windowpane

At night I would smile at them

Teeth compared to those

flashing pentagrams

luminous bodies that painted

the sky like glitter

There used to be peace

here in my life
