Asphyxiation

he had hands

of burnished mahogany

you kept that palm

lodged around my throat

those digits would pierce my skin

my veins would prickle

you did it for the burn

for the sudden power rush

I loved to watch your eyes darken

you held me

until I was right over the edge

that sweet kiss of death

lingering on my tongue

but you would cut it off

before I could taste it
